Try Stampin on Tuesday # 96

By | December 12, 2012

Hi there

I was in need of a couple of sympathy cards last week and this week’s sketch went perfectly with what I had in mind.  They are not easy cards to make but I find this set (Lovely as a Tree) is a good one to use.

I finally got to use my Core’dinations card stock and Woodgrain Embossing Folder together – I love the effect the embossing folder has on the card stock.  I embossed the trees then coloured them in with watercolour crayons which I haven’t used for a while.  I used my Sizzlits Lots of Tags die to create the label cutting one in Early Espresso and matting it behind the Very Vanilla.
Supplies:
Stamp – Lovely as a Tree, Thoughts and Prayers
Card Stock – Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Early Espresso Core’dinations
Ink – Early Espresso
Other – Clear Embossing Powder, Watercolour Crayons – Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Certainly Celery, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Dimensionals
I’ll be back tomorrow with another sympathy card using Blooming with Kindness.

I hope you’re more prepared for Christmas than I am – I still haven’t got my tree up!

Sympathy cards are so hard to make (for me) & you made such a beautiful one. I really like what you have made.

This is a really good stamp set for sympathy cards. Love the texture of the woodgrain- works perfectly with the card. Your colouring is also great 🙂

Beautiful coloring on your trees! This is one of my favorite stamp sets. I hadn't thought to use it on a sympathy card, but it makes perfect sense. Such a serene scene, and gorgeous with your sentiment and that dark woodgrain.
