For those of you not in New Zealand, this weekend is our Labour Weekend. It’s the first long weekend we’ve had since the beginning of June. Traditionally this is the weekend you get out in the garden and start planting the summer veges. It has certainly been the weather for it today – lovely blue skies and warm in the sun. We managed to weed the front garden and prepare the vege garden – so a good day all round.
One of the guys I work with, his wife owns and runs Bloom Cupcakes on the North Shore here in Auckland. They make the most amazing cupcakes (and they have GF). On Wednesday night they won the Top Shop 2014 in the Food and Beverage category for Auckland – they also came second in the Overall Regional category.
So I just had to make a card to congratulate them – I knew exactly what to make and here it is:
