Sale-A-Bration Team Swaps #4

By | February 20, 2014

Hi there

I love making 3D items and these are ones you could easily recreate yourself.

The first two projects were made using the MDS digital download product on page 17 of the catalogue.  Both Rachael and Lisa have made their swaps hybrid which means they’re a combination of digitally printed product plus traditional ‘hands on’ products eg punches, stamps, brads etc.

Rachael, Lisa, Sam and Ann – I’m sure I’ll be recreating these – thanks.

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed the last couple of days projects.  Next up will be the swaps I got showcasing products from the new Occasions catalogue.

While I have been showing these projects created by others I have been busy creating myself – the only problem is I can’t show you anything yet.  You’ll have to wait until after the weekend as I’m presenting them at our team stamp camp 🙂

Sale-A-Bration Team Swap #3

By | February 19, 2014

Hi there

I hope you’re enjoying seeing what the team created using products from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

This first card uses the Good as Gold card kit.  The kit comes with 8 card bases, envelope liners and envelopes plus a sheet of gold foil tags, a sheet of printed die-cut tags, 8 pieces of gold elastic cord and 8 pieces of Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine.  Now you could make up eight cards as per the instructions or you could do as Jackie has and use bits of the kit to create you own card.

Well that’s the last of the cards  – thanks Jackie, Narelle, Ria and Sharon.

Tomorrow’s post will feature the 3D items we received.

Sale-A-Bration Team Swaps #2

By | February 18, 2014

Hi there

Back again with round two of the Sale-A-Bration swaps I recieved last month.

These four cards have one item in common – the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The good news is that this embossing folder will be carrying over to the 2014-2015 annual catalogue 🙂

Thanks Rosie, Andrea, Angela and Bernie

I’ve got one more round of cards and a round of 3D items still to show.

Hi there

Welcome to the ESAD Occasions Blog Hop.  You may have arrived from Debbie’s blog or just joined my page.

So what is ESAD?  ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

We love what we do & love to share with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors. We also share what we love in our ESAD Demonstrator community, through swaps, challenges, sharing knowledge, ideas & friendship, and we’re always there to help and support each other.

So if you’re a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to leave me a comment with your Email address and I’ll contact you with information on how to join our wonderful group.

For my project I have created a box (filled with chocolates no less) and a matching card using the Geometrical stamp set, matching Triangle Punch and the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I’m in love with this set as you may have already seen on some of previous posts.
Here are some close ups of my project:

For the box I randomly stamped the images on Naturals White card stock to create my own ‘designer card stock’ 🙂  The box is made using one sheet of A4 card stock.
Supplies:
Stamp Set – Geometrical, Bring on the Cake
Card Stock – Naturals White, Bermuda Bay
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush
Other – Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Triangle Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dots
(I’ve had a few requested for the instructions to make this box – I will try and put a tutorial together in the coming weeks.)

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project and now it’s time to hop on over to Angela’s blog.

Team Swap Thank You cards

By | February 15, 2014

Hi there

Last month I organised two team swaps – it was heaps of fun.  Some of the ladies sent me ‘thank you’ cards so I thought I’d share those with you.

Thank you ladies I really appreciated receiving these.  Check back next week to see the swap cards for Sale-A-Bration and the Occasions catalogues.
Now tomorrow we are having another ESAD Blog Hop so make sure you check out my blog after midday – I’m sure you’ll be in for a treat.

Happy Anniversary Mum and Dad

By | February 14, 2014

Hi there

Not only is today Valentines Day but it is my parents 55th wedding anniversary – Happy Anniversary Mum & Dad.

Today’s card is one I made for Dad to give to Mum – can’t have him giving her a bought one now can we 🙂

The new ‘gold’ range of products in the new Occasions catalogue were perfect for my creation.  I adhered my piece of vellum to Whisper White card stock with glue dots to give it a bit of weight then adhered it to the card base.  This also meant I was able to wrap the gold baker’s twine around the vellum piece without any ends showing.
Mum really loved the card and the one we gave which I blogged here – I couldn’t mention anything in the post in case she saw.
Supplies:

Stamp Set – Perfect Pennants
Card Stock – Whisper White, Gold Foil Sheets, Red Glimmer Paper
Other – Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Gold Baker’s Twine, Banner Framelits Die, Gold Embossing Powder, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Triple Time Stamping

By | February 13, 2014

Hi there

It’s been a while since I made a card using the Triple Time stamping technique so I thought that would be a good one to use for my second card at last nights class.

I’ve used one of the Sale-A-Bration FREE stamp sets – Petal Parade along with my favourite colour at the moment Bermuda Bay.
Supplies:
Stamp Set – Petal Parade, Label Something
Card Stock – Soft Sued, Very Vanilla
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry
Other – Ticket Punch,Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestones, Dimensionals
The ladies enjoyed making both these cards and have given me some suggestions for the next couple of classes which is great so watch this space.

Clean & Simple challenge – FTL279

By | February 12, 2014

Hi there

Just a quick post tonight as I’m getting ready for my first monthly card class – very exciting.

Today’s card is for a new challenge site I’ve found called Clean and Simple Stamping

I’m back using my newest favourite stamp – Another Great Year.  This is one of the cards I’ll be teaching tonight.  It also uses the Retro Fresh Washi Tape which is so much fun to use – I hope my ladies enjoy making this.
Supplies:
Stamp Set – Another Great Year
Card Stock – Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink – Tangerine Tango, VersaMark
Other – Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Check back tomorrow for the second card we’ll be making.

JAI 201

By | February 11, 2014

Hi there

Time to join in another challenge – this time I’ve gone with Just Add Ink.  As soon as I saw the colour combo (Real Red, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Sahara Sand) I knew exactly what I’d make – gotta love that.  I’ve gone with a wedding anniversary theme as I have a few of those coming up this month.

I’ve used the just retired Flowerful Heart stamp then cut out smaller hearts from it with the Hearts Framelits.  The embossing folder is one of the options from Sale-A-Bration which you get for FREE when you spend $110 or more.  I like this folder more than the Perfect Polka Dots one as I think it gives a softer effect.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Flowerful Heart, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card Stock – Real Red, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Ink – Real Red, Pool Party, Island Indigo
Other – Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Hearts Collection Framelits, Dimensionals

Don’t forget to check out the Just Add Ink site and see the other creations – or better still have a go yourself.

Texture Boutique Embossing Machine tip

By | February 10, 2014

Hi there

I received my new Texture Boutique Embossing Machine on Friday so had a little play over the weekend.  This is a good option for those of you who don’t have a Big Shot but enjoy dry embossing on your cards and projects – and it’s cheaper than a Big Shot.

The new machine comes with two plates and a shim and this is the effect you get (I’ve just done this on a scrap piece of card stock to show you):

The effect is slightly lighter than you would get if you used the Big Shot.

To get a deeper impression one of my fellow demos Julia has worked out a way – just add another shim to the ‘sandwich’.  She made hers out of acetate – good thing I had some at home.  This is the effect you get with two layers of shim:

And just to compare – this one is done with the Big Shot:
And here they are all together:
If you’d like to have a play before you buy one then give me a call and pop on round.

Freshly Made Sketches – FMS122

By | February 9, 2014

Hi there

I’m a happy girl – my husband got home yesterday 🙂  It’s so nice having him back home after being away for work all last week.

A good family friend of ours is having his birthday this week and I needed some inspiration for a masculine card and gift.  I’ve chosen to use this weeks sketch from Freshly Made Sketches – it worked perfectly with the papers I wanted to use.

I’ve also gone with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit.  This thinlit is slightly shorter than our NZ/Australian sized cards but I was able to cut it in half and add the DSP over the join so that it covered the whole card front 🙂  I must remember that for future cards.

And here is the inside plus a small gift to go with the card.

The box is made with a 6 3/8″ square of DSP and the Envelope Punch Board.  It holds six Whittakers mini slabs – now there’s a surprise.

And here it is all together:

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Perfect Pennants, Another Great Year
Card Stock – Baked Brown Sugar, So Saffron, Very Vanilla
DSP – Retro Fresh
Ink – Tangerine Tango
Other – Hexagon Hive Thinlit, Banner Framelits Die, Retro Fresh This and That Washi Tape, Dimensionals, Envelope Punch Board

Another Great Year #3

By | February 8, 2014

Hi there

Here’s my last (for the moment) card using Another Great Year.

I’ve used the same method as yesterday’s card but this time I embossed it onto coloured card stock – Strawberry Slush.  I love this colour so much that I had to buy another pack of card stock as I’ve gone through so much lately :).  This one has a lot more layers on the front – six to be exact.  The paper is from the Kaleidoscope suite which is another favourite of mine from the new catalogue.

I’ve used the last stamp from the set – the small cupcake – for a more feminine look along the bottom.

Supplies:
Stamp Set – Another Great Year
Card Stock – Strawberry Slush, Basic Black, Whisper White
DSP – Kaleidoscope
Ink – Strawberry Slush, Black StazOn
Other – Black Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Well I’m off to get ready to pick Phil up from the airport after being away for a week in Oz for work.  Our bathroom is now back up and running and I’ll be able to try out the new shower tomorrow.  My Dad (almost 81) has been wonderful and done the painting for me – what would I do without my Dad 🙂
