Another Sneak Peak

By | January 16, 2014

Hi there

Just a quick post today as I had hoped to already be in bed by now as I had an early start this morning – never mind, crafting is more important than sleep 🙂

This card uses a stamp set and DSP from the new Occasions Catalogue available from 28th January.

And I even remembered to take a photo of the inside!  I think you’ll be seeing more of this stamp set and paper in the coming weeks.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Geometrical, Bring on the Cake
Card Stock – Basic Black, Naturals White, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Black StazOn
DSP – Kaleidscope
Other – Triangle Punch, Black Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Tape It Birthday

By | January 15, 2014

Hi there

I’m on a roll at the moment with my blogging – I hope I can keep it up 🙂

Today’s card uses a set that hadn’t seen the ink yet!  I hope to rectify this.  I wanted to use the same colour on the two longest stamps so I placed them on one clear block and stamped them at the same time – made quick work of stamping.

When I placed them on the block I made sure I still had room for another stamp to fit in between.  The colour combination comes straight from the Basic Black card in the Colour Coach.

Supplies:
Stamp Set – Tape It, Label Love
Card Stock – Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Smoky Slate
Other – Artisan Label Punch, Dimensionals

Happy Birthday Catherine

Hi there

Last Friday I showed you a card I’d made for the Mojo Monday challenge.  Well I ended up giving it to our neighbour for her birthday today.  I like to give a little edible gift with my cards and here’s what I made:

This was created by Sam Donald – a UK demo.  It holds three Whittakers Mini Slabs.  Sam’s one was fastened at the top with the Simply Styled Embellishments but mine was too full so I created handles with ribbon.  Here it is with the card:

Supplies:
Stamp Set – Another Great Year
DSP – Perfect Polka Dots
Ink – Coastal Cabana
Other – Pumpkin Pie 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Chalk Talk Framelits

Did you spot another new product on the little bag?

Happy Birthday Seb

By | January 13, 2014

Hi there

Tomorrow our friends eldest son turns 8 so this evening I dropped down his card and little gift.  Normally the kids are in bed when I go but with it being school holidays they were still up.  Mr 8 answered the door and quickly told me ‘It’s my birthday tomorrow’.   He was allowed to open his card early and there was much excitement from him and Mr 5 who said ‘Is this another awesome card?’  It’s one of the reasons I enjoy making cards.  I’ll let you decide if this is ‘another awesome’ card.

Now knowing there are four children in the house I thought these jelly beans won’t last long or go far so I made a box for the stockpile using the Envelope Punch Board.  You can refill the Sweet Treat Cup via the flap on the inside of the card without having to ruin the front.

And here’s the gift all together

Supplies:
Stamp Set – Bring on the Cake, Memorable Moments
Card Stock – Raspberry Ripple, Very Vanilla, Summer Starfruit
DSP – Birthday Basics
Ink – Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple, Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray, VersaMark
Framelits – Apothecary Accents, Deco Labels, Circles Collection
Other – Raspberry Ripple Satin Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Sweet Treat Cup, Envelope Punch Board, Blender Pen, Dimensionals

Butterfly Thank You

Hi there

One of the perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demo is that we get to pre-order product a month before a new catalogue is released.  Our new Occasions Catalogue is due to start on 28 January and I received my pre-order end of last week.  I managed to have a play with some of my new goodies this weekend so watch out for some ‘sneak’ previews in the coming weeks.

I’ve used one of the new products in today’s card – can you spot it?

On the last day of work last year I order some bean bags from Big Save Furniture in Manukau for work.  The assistant that helped me (over the phone) was so helpful I wanted to send her a card to say ‘Thanks’.  She went above and beyond her job – she even managed to get me free delivery 🙂
And here’s the inside of the card (I remembered to take a photo!)

Supplies:
Stamp Set – Papillon Potpourri, Four You
Card Stock – Calypso Coral, Whisper White
Ink – Calypso Coral
DSP – I Am Me
Other – Bitty Butterfly Punch, 1″ and 1 1/4″ Square Punch, Word Bubbles Framelits, Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon (retired), Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Dauber

Lasting Christmas Gift

By | January 11, 2014

Hi there

I finally got round to taking the photos of the Christmas gift our wonderful upline Jacque made for us.  We were able to choose which colour we wanted so I naturally chose one with yellow!

It’s such a cool gift that lasts for the whole year with specific tasks until May.  I’m already running behind as the first task was to pamper yourself with a relaxing bath – one problem for me – we don’t have a bath!  Never mind I’m going to be staying at Mum & Dad’s soon so can enjoy one there.
We’ve been given nine partially made cards and we need to complete them using the embellishments provided and send them to various people.

This is such a cool gift.  I will be starting my January task next week – you never know you may find a card in the mail from me 🙂

Mojo Monday #327

By | January 10, 2014

Hi there

What a beautiful day we’ve had here in Auckland – pity I was at work but it’s meant to be round for the weekend so all good 🙂

For today’s card I’ve used this week’s sketch from Mojo Monday.  I rotated the layout so that it would fit my stamp and my colour combo is straight from the colour coach for Coastal Cabana – love this colour.

Now this isn’t a colour combination I would have chosen myself but I think it goes pretty well together.  My colour coach is never far from hand.  I went with ribbon along the top which meant I couldn’t stamp directly onto it so I added my ‘ink spots’ by stamping on card stock them punching out with a flower punch from the Itty Bitty pack.
Supplies:
Stamp Set – Perfectly Penned, Gorgeous Grunge
Card Stock – Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
DSP – Polka Dot Parade
Ink – Coastal Cabana, Pumpkin Pie
Other – Decorative Label Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon, Glue Dots

Well I’m off to my friends house to watch a movie while Phil heads out to Muriwai to take sunset photos – enjoy your evening.

Wishing You … Birthday

By | January 9, 2014

Hi there

Ok – here’s the last card that wasn’t blogged from last year!

This stamp set is my favourite from the Holiday Catalogue (which finishes 1 February 2014).  I’ve used it on 10 different styles of cards – it so versatile for such a small stamp set.

I CASE’d this card  from Victoria Rogers of Blue Jelly Stampin.  I love all the layering of the parcels.
Supplies:
Stamp Set – Wishing You
Card Stock – Soft Suede, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White
Ink – Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette, Pool Party
Other – Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Mosaic Birthday

By | January 8, 2014

Hi there

I’m a very happy ‘aunt’ today as my 19 year old nephew returned form his OE this afternoon.  I’m sure he’s grown taller and that I haven’t shrunk.  I had to stand on tip toes for a hug!  It’s SO good to see him home.

Here’s a card I made for a friend’s birthday last month but never got round to blogging it.  I really like the black and vanilla of the paper and added a Cherry Cobbler bow for a touch of colour.  I forgot to take a photo of the inside (again) which had the greeting.  The card base was Vanilla and I had matted another piece of Vanilla with the Black – it looked really cool with the greeting stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

Supplies:
Stamp – Mosaic Madness
Card Stock – Very Vanilla, Basic Black
DSP – Modern Medley
Ink – Smoky Slate
Other – Mosaic Punch, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

3D gift box

By | January 7, 2014

Hi there

Last Tuesday I had the pleasure of meeting fellow Aussie Demo – Debbie Blake who was in port for the day.  Debbie and her husband were on a cruise that docked in Auckland for the day so a group of Auckalnd demos (plus Rob & Phil) met her for lunch.  It was so nice to be able to catch up in person.  Debbie gave us each a gorgeous gift – filled with a Caramello Koala!  I will definitely be recreating this cute little box.

Thank you so much Debbie and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your cruise.

Best of …

Hi there

Well it was back to work today for me – a bit hard getting up at 6:30am after all those lovely sleep ins but I’m sure it will get easier!

Don’t forget the “Whole lot of Love” promotion is on until 27 January.  Check out my post here for more details.

Colour and Sketch challenge

By | January 5, 2014

Hi there

It’s hard to believe but my two weeks of holidays is drawing to an end – it’s back to work tomorrow.  It’s been a very relaxing time catching up with family and friends.

Today’s post combines a colour challenge (CTD273) and a sketch challenge (MOJO326).  There were two options for the sketch either a round or a square card.  I haven’t made a round card for ages so thought I’d go with that and here’s what I came up with:

I haven’t used Tempting Turquoise for ages and it was good to get it out again.  It goes so well with the two shades of grey.  This card is perfect for my friend’s birthday this week as she loves blue.  I’ve also made a matching note pad as a wee gift to go with the card.

Supplies:
Stamp Set – Flower Shop, Best Dad Ever (retired)
Card Stock – Tempting Turquoise, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Ink – Tempting Turquoise
DSP – I am Me
Other – Tempting Turquoise Brads (retired), Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Pansy Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Chevron Embossing Folder, Circles Collection Framelits, Small Scallop Rotary Cutting Blade, Dimensionals

ColorQ #222

By | January 4, 2014

Hi there

Wow is it hot and muggy today – almost too hot to craft!  We have just been out for a picnic lunch at Waiti Bay, east of Kawakawa Bay and it was lovely.  Great to see so many families out enjoying the water and being together.

Another of my New Year’s Resolutions was to enter into challenges so yesterday I had a look to see what was going and fell in love with the colour combo over at ColourQ.  This combo of Black, Grey. Gold and White was perfect for the card I wanted to create – an engagement card for my niece who got engaged just before Christmas :).  It was also a chance to ink up my new stamp Flowerfull Heart.

I was really pleased with how this turned out – I hope Rebecca likes it.
Supplies:
Stamp Set – Flowerfull Heart, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card Stock – Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Other – Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, Deco Labels Collection Framelits, Hearts Collection Framelits, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Gold Embossing Powder, VersaMark, Heat Gun, Gold Metallic Encore Pad, 5/8″ Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Basic Black 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals
Well I’m off to make another card for a friends birthday – check back soon to see what I create.

Thanks – and a challenge

By | January 3, 2014

Hi there

The other day I had a text from a customer/friend saying she had just tried a yummy colour combo of Wisteria Wonder, Tangerine Tango and Pistachio Pudding.  Wisteria Wonder is not a colour I’ve used much so I thought I’d give it a go as well and here’s my creation.

I played around for a while with the layout and finally settled on this.  The set works really well with the colour combo and I love it – thanks Steph.
Supplies:
Stamp Set – Six-Sided Sampler, Fabulous Phrases
Card Stock – Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Ink – Wisteria Wonder, Tangerine Tango, Pistachio Pudding
Other – Hexagon Punch

Happy Wedding Anniversary

By | January 2, 2014

Hi there

A couple of weeks ago it was our friends 32nd wedding anniversary and this is the card I made for them.

At the time I didn’t own any suitable stamps (have since bought the Flowerful Heart stamp) so used texture and shapes to create the card – even my sentiment is a retired one!  I was really pleased with how it turned out and they loved it.
Supplies:
Stamp – A Word for You (retired)
Card Stock – Real Red, Whisper White, Red Glimmer Paper
Ink – Real Red
Other – Hearts Collection Framelits, Small Heart Punch, Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Dauber
