Triple Time Stamping

By | November 5, 2012

Hi there

I have finally got round to making some Triple Time Stamping cards that Dawn Olchfeske showed months ago – I was waiting to get my new stamps – so over the weekend I made three cards using different stamps sets.

The first one I made uses Blooming with Kindness and some of the new In Colours – Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals.

I was really pleased with my first attempt – and I love this colour combo.

My second one uses Flowering Flourishes and the Dynamic Duo of Regal Rose and Rose Red (straight from the Colour Coach).  The words are from one of my newest favourites Made For You.

My last one is for the Autumn Challenge over at Stampin Fun and Friends.  The challenge was you had to have a tree or a leaf/leaves incorporated in your project so I used one of my favourite sets French Foliage.

The card stock is Soft Suede and inks are Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Old Olive and Soft Suede topped off with some Linen Thread wrapped round the top two layers.
Leave me a comment and let me know which card you like best.
Have a great week.

Jolly Jingles

By | November 4, 2012

Hi there

I’ve had a busy crafting weekend.  Yesterday the Creative Inkers held their Christmas Extravaganza.  We had 60 ladies attend and they made five projects.  Here is the project that I demo’d with my friend and fellow demo Narelle.

To create our ornament we’ve used the Shaker Frames (at the bottom of pg 177).  They come in a sheet of 36 with 6 different sizes.  We showed how you could trim down the bigger frames and join them with the smaller frames making this type of project very economical.  The stamping wheels are very versatile and are a quick way to create a project.  For our card base we’ve used the new Naturals White.  I used to use Confetti White which has now retired and this is a good replacement if you want your base heavier than Whisper White.
Supplies:
Stamp – Jolly Jingles Wheel, Ornament Keepsakes
Card Stock – Marina Mist, Naturals White
Ink – VersaMark
Other – Holiday Ornaments Framelits, Scallop Trim Border Punch, 1″ Circle Punch, White Embossing Powder, Shaker Frames, Champagne Glass Glitter, Acetate, Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Dazzling Diamonds
This afternoon I’ve made three cards as part of Stampin Fun and Friends.  I’ll be back soon to show them.  The session has just started so there’s still plenty of time to join in.  For more details click here.

Have a great week.

Embellished Events Baby Cards

By | November 2, 2012

Hi there

I’m slowly getting ink to the new stamp sets I bought last month.  Here are baby cards I made on behalf of work for two guys who have recently become fathers again.

I used my markers to ink up the image so that I could have multiple colours on the one stamp.  I am loving the new In Colours satin ribbon (I certainly made good use of last months offer).
Supplies:
Stamp – Embellished Events, Baby Prints, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card Stock – Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Markers – Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist, Real Red, Basic Black, Midnight Muse
Other – Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green Satin Ribbon, Word Window and Modern Label Punch, Dimensionals
I hope you all have a great weekend.  I am heading of to our teams Extravaganza event on Saturday – we have 60 ladies attending.  I’ll show you the card I’m demonstrating later in the weekend.
Until then

Scallop Edge Border Frame

By | October 31, 2012

Hi there

I have finally found my tutorial for the scallop frame that I used on this card.

Scallop Edge Border Frame
Step One
Cut card stock to a 2 ¾” square
Step Two
Place the card stock into the punch so that it is centred and has an even amount on each side of the punch.  Use the grid on the punch to help centre the card stock.
Step Three
After punching the first side rotate the card stock and punch the next side making sure it is centred on the punch as in the above step.
Step Four
Continue punching the remaining two sides as per above instructions.
To make a smaller frame cut card stock to a 2 5/8” square and repeat above steps.

Have fun and I look forward to seeing your creations.

Clockworks

By | October 30, 2012

Hi there

It’s a beautiful day today and I wish I was outside rather than sitting in an office – never mind.

Today’s card uses the new stamp set Clockworks.  As soon as I saw it I knew I had to buy it.  It’s got a good selection of stamps – background and images and is great for masculine cards which we all seem to struggle with.

I cased this card from Stamperdog aka Ann Clemmer.  Ann used the Argyle Embossing Folder on her card – I have now ordered it as it will go well with this set.
I have also made a set of six cards using the One Sheet Wonder technique so I am now stocked with masculine cards – I will try and post them later this week.
Supplies:
Stamp – Clockworks, Made for You
Card Stock – More Mustard, Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Ink – More Mustard, Midnight Muse, Early Espresso
Other – Mini Brad, Midnight Muse Satin Ribbon
Well lunchtime is over and it’s back to work.
Catch you again soon.

Summer Smooches meets Quint-Essential Flower

By | October 27, 2012

Hi there

It’s a beautiful day here in Auckland – surprise, surprise – so we’ve made the most of the fine weather and got out into the garden this morning and attacked the weeds.  In doing so we’ve discovered two self sowing tomato plants!

While drinking my lunchtime coffee I was checking me emails and saw this great card by Andrea Walford so I decided I’d give it a go – housework can wait a bit longer lol.

So here’s my take using Quint-Essential Flower instead of Blue Ribbon.

I decided to fully mat my piece of DSP and have trimmed the edge with Adorning Accents Edgelits.  I love the bright colours in this paper.

Supplies:
Stamp – Quint-Essential Flower, Made for You
Card Stick – Naturals White, Lucky Limeade
Ink – Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight
DSP – Summer Smooches
Other – 1 3/4″ and 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle, 1 1/4″ Circle, Adorning Accents Edeglits, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and lets hope this sunny weather stays.

Jolly Jingles

By | October 26, 2012

Hi there

Well this time in 8 weeks and I’ll be on holiday again 🙂  How cool is that!  It’s hard to believe that Christmas is only 8 1/2 weeks away.  With that in mind here are two cards I created over the weekend with the new Jolly Jingles wheel.

I decided to purchase a blank ink cartridge which I inked up in VersaMark – makes it easier than trying to roller on the small pad.  I’ve added Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder to match the DSP and Seam Binding ribbon.  For a bit extra on the top card I added a row of small pearls to the hanging ornament.

I’ve had a few people asking how I made the scallop frame on this Christmas card so will try and get that done over the weekend.

Supplies:
Stamp – Jolly Jingles Wheel
Card Stock – Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Ink – VersaMark
DSP – Be of Good Cheer
Other – Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Pearls, Glue Dot

Have a great weekend

Try Stampin on Tuesday

By | October 22, 2012

Hi there

Well I am now back in NZ after a fantastic holiday in the US.  Sorry for the lack of posts this week but I haven’t been well.  I went to work fine on Monday but by the end of the day had a sore throat and runny nose – the doctor thinks it’s hay fever so I am now on two antibiotics and anti-histamine tablets for a month plus a nasal spray!  Don’t you just love Spring!!

Well this weekend I’ve finally been able to have a play with all my new products.  When I got home there were a number of brown boxes waiting for me 🙂

After not crafting for six weeks I wasn’t sure where to start so I checked out some of the challenge sites and found a great layout on Try Stampin on Tuesday – here’s what I came up with.  I was really pleased how quickly this card came together and I love the clean and simple look.  It uses five new items – can you pick them?

I’ve fallen in love with the stamp set the sentiment is from and have used it on 12 of the 15 cards I made this weekend!  I’ll try and post the remaining cards over the coming week.
Supplies:
Stamp – Quint-Essential Flower, Made for You
Card Stock – Marina Mist, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green
Ink – Marina Mist, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green
Punches – 2 1/2″, 1″, 3/4″, 1/2″ Circle, 2 3/8″, 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle, Large Oval and Scallop Oval
Other – Fancy Fan Folder Embossing Folder, Midnight Muse Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals
I hope you have all had a great long weekend and managed to do some crafting.
Thanks for looking.

By | October 10, 2012

Hi there

Do you own a stamp set that you really wanted to buy and then haven’t used it much?  Well this is my set.  I’d seen so many cool cards using it but I just haven’t got round to recreating them or creating my own ideas.  So my plan is to let this set see more ink over the coming months.

Card Stock – So Saffron, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Ink – More Mustard
Other – various markers and coloured pencils

Team Training Make and Takes

By | September 28, 2012

Hi there

I am fortunate to be part of a wonderful team headed up by Jacque Pedersen (soon to be Williams).  Each month we have team training and this get-together is invaluable.  It’s a great time to share new ideas, encourage each other as demo’s and hear what has worked well (and not so well) in our workshops and classes.  We have heaps of fun and there is always a lot of laughter.

Here are two projects we made recently using new products:

The first ones uses the new set – Make a Cake and the co-ordinating DSP Patio Party.  Don’t you just love this colour combo?

The cake is make up of two stamps – one of which we stamped onto DSP then cut out.  This one uses the Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon.  We’ve also used the hearts Adorning Accents Folder.  These are great value – you get three narrow embossing folders in one pack.
Supplies:
Stamp – Make a Cake, Curly Cute
Card Stock – Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink – Midnight Muse
Other – Summer Starfruit Ribbon, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, Mini Brad, Dimensionals

The second card uses the new set Blooming with Kindness (this is now on my wishlist after making this card!)  It comes with five sentiments plus the flower stamp.

Supplies:
Stamp – Blooming with Kindness
Card Stock – Whisper White
Ink – Certainly Celery, Primrose Petals, Pink Pirouette
Other – Raspberry Ripple Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, VersaMark, Daubers, Dimensionals
