Butterfly Basics Sympathy Card

By | May 25, 2016

Hi there

Sympathy cards are never easy to make but this one came together nicely.  I CASED one of my previous cards and just changed the colour scheme.

This was for my neighbour who lost her grandmother at the beginning of the month.  She had been very close to her grandmother and I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her at this time.  It’s so nice to be able to personalise a sympathy card.

For the sentiment I only wanted part of the stamp so used my markers to ‘ink’ up the portion I needed.

Supplies:
Stamp Set – Butterfly Basics, Thoughts and Prayers
Card Stock – Rose Red, Very Vanilla
Ink – Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake
Other – Butterflies Thinlits, Basic Pearls

Well tomorrow is a big day in our house – birthdays all around – and one is a ‘big 0’. No not me 🙂  Check back tomorrow to see the card I made for Phil.

I just ran across this card on a Pinterest site. I was wondering how you did the flowers. I tried using markers to do the flowers and then the stems but I believe I ruined my stamp. Please explain how you did the petals and stems.
    Thank you

Hi – from memory I used my Stampin’ Write Markers on my stamp (I have the rubber version). Using markers on stamps shouldn’t ruin them.
