Hi there
I love a good fun fold, and the Fold Back card is definitely one of my go-to designs. It’s simple to create but gives you a really interesting card with plenty of space to show off Designer Series Paper. For this card I’ve used the beautiful Moonlit Flora DSP, with three different coordinating designs. When the card is closed, you can see all three patterns, which makes this fold perfect for showcasing your favourite papers.

The card base is Secret Sea, with Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive and Berry Burst used for the centrepiece. Rather than adding a coloured mat behind the focal point, I’ve used Vellum, which gives a softer look and lets the DSP show through. The circles were die cut using the Stylish Shapes and Spotlight on Nature Dies, with layered Old Olive foliage and Berry Burst flowers added to create the botanical focal point.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Exciting Times stamp set. I’ve once again used my Washi Tape hack to cover the unwanted words on the stamp before inking — a simple trick that lets you get more versatility from your stamps. Check out my video over on my YouTube channel.

To create the Fold Back design, I scored the front of the Secret Sea card base at 3.5 cm and folded that section back. This creates the three-panel effect and allows the different DSP designs to be seen when the card is closed. A simple fold, but one that makes a real impact.
Until next time …
