March Card Class Projects

By | April 4, 2016

Hi there

I’ve been a bit slack and I’ve forgotten to show you the cards we made at our March card class so without further ado here they are.

The vellum is one of the Sale-A-Bration products and coordinates with the Botanical Gardens Suite in the Occasions Catalogue.  After cutting out all the pieces I adhered them to the vellum.  Now the trick – how to adhere the vellum to the card base without the adhesive being seen.  I turned the vellum over and using my Snail applied adhesive on the back of the flowers, ferns and numbers then stuck it down on the card base.  Not all of the vellum is stuck down but that doesn’t matter – it’s not going to come off :).  Another trick is stick it down in the corners with glue dots and then place a Pearl, Rhinestone or Candy Dot on top of the glue dot and all is hidden.

I forgot to take a photo of the inside!  We stamped ‘Happy Birthday’ from Perfect Pairings plus the leaf image in the bottom corner.

Supplies:
Stamp – Botanical Blooms, Perfect Pairings
Card Stock – Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink – Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Momento Black
Other – Large Number Framelits Botanical Builder Framelits, Dauber, Botanical Gardens Vellum

This card is a mix of CASES and a bit of my twist on them.  I find when I use Very Vanilla or Whisper White for a card base it needs an extra layer to give it some strength.  Here we used Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and then the card front of Very Vanilla.  We repeated these layers for the inside as well.

Supplies:
Stamp – Timeless Textures
Card Stock – Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Ink – Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, Rose Red
Other – Hello You Thinlits, Linen Thread, Designer Very Vintage Buttons, Wink of Stella Gold
