Wedding Card #5

Hi there

This weeks challenge at JAI is to just use Red & White.  Man did I find this hard!  I don’t know how many combo’s I tried before settling on the below.  I teamed it up with the square layout from Mojo Monday.

I’m really pleased with this card.  This stamp is great for anniversary cards & I am so pleased I bought the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set – it has been invaluable.  I’ve seen others attach little hearts at the end of ribbon so thought I’d give it a go with this card.  It just finishes it off I think.

Wedding Card #4 – Stamping411 – SSC 240

Hi there

Just a quick post tonight – I need to get this loaded before the challenge closes! I love this layout and have combined it with a colour challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.

JAI #102 – Just case Kathy Tanner

This week at Just Add Ink the challenge was to Just Add Kathy Tanner.  I had never seen Kathy’s blog so my first task was to check it out – Kathy’s blog is now on my list :).  After checking through her posts for 2011, I had a list of favourites then I had to narrow it down and settled on two.

The first is for my nephews 21st next month:

I instantly fell in love with the bright colours Kathy had used.  I’m sure this card will be made again.  It’s a great way to use up the offcuts we all seem to accrue.  I’ve used a retired stamp set Starring You with white embossing powder.
Supplies:

My second card is a sympathy card – had to make 3 this past weekend 🙁  I find it hard to get the right layout that reflects the tone of the card but I think this layout has worked well.  Check to see Kathy’s original.

Wedding Card #3 – FMS19

Hi there

Well I’ve had a very productive day in my craft space – finished my final tutorial for the next session of Stampin Fun & Friends which starts 1st Feb plus made 4 cards and about to start my 5th!

For card #3 I’ve used the layout from a new found challenge site Freshly Made Sketches.  I’m loving their sketches and have added this site to my ‘challenge’ list.

This card is for my bridesmaid who is celebrating her 6th wedding anniversary in a few days – congrats Ang & Jason.

I rotated the layout to accommodate an image I already had – trying to use up the bits & pieces on my desk!  None of the DSP I had suited the vertical strip so I crimped a piece of card stock for effect.  I had wanted to use brads at the bottom but they didn’t sit flat enough on the base so I went for Rhinestones instead – they add a bit of bling.  I forgot to take a photo of the inside of the card which has the sentiment.

Wedding Anniversary card #2

Hi there

Well it’s a beautiful day here in Auckland – and we get the day off work!  Today is Auckland Anniversary Day where we celebrate the founding of our province back in 1840.  Each year to commemorate the day there is a big sailing regatta (one of the world’s single biggest one day sailing regattas) on the Waitemata Harbour.  Auckland is known as the City of Sails.
Today’s card is the second in my series of wedding anniversary cards.  For this I’ve used the layout from Try Stampin on Tuesday and the colours are from Color Throwdown.
This was such a great card to make – my friend saw it and made one herself.  I’ve finally been able to use my  Striped Embossing Folder.   I think you will see more of this in coming cards.  To get the mat for my heart I’ve used the die from the Movers & Shapers set – if you don’t have this die I would recommend getting it.

Mojo Monday #225

This is a quick post before I head off to bed.

I needed to create a quick masculine card and these two challenges have worked well together – layout from Mojo Monday and the colour combo from ColourQ.

I rotated the layout to fit the stamp I wanted to use 🙂  My squares are 1 1/2″.

Wedding Anniversary #1

Today’s card is the first of 8 that I need to make for wedding anniversaries in the next 4 weeks!

This one is for my friends daughter who is celebrating her 1st wedding anniversary.  Congratulations Rhi & Christiaan.

I made this card at our Christmas breakfast at Jacque’s using some new products from the SAB range (can’t wait for my order to arrive) and then added the anniversary sentiment.

Hi there

This card combines two challenges from Stamping411 – the weekly sketch and the monthly colour inspiration.

I love this stamp and it lends itself beautifully for a triple colour combo.  To make the three circles on the side I adhered the Lucky Limeade card stock to the DSP then on the back of the DSP I marked where to punch my 1″ circles.  The stamped image from Posy Punch (a hostess set) is done on a scrap of Whisper White then adhered to the DSP.  I was really pleased with the finished card.

JAI #101

Well it’s been a lovely day here in Auckland – I even managed to fit in a walk at lunchtime :).  It’s so lovely to see the sun and feel the warmth.

Last month I finally got round to buying the scallop square die and now I can use it in this weeks layout at Just Add Ink– I’m a sucker for dies!

I have used Melon Mambo Embossing Powder for my image and then sponged the background in Bashful Blue to create a sky.  I wasn’t really into Melon Mambo (not being a pink girl) but the more I use it the more I like it!  I haven’t put a greeting on the card as I’m not sure what I’ll use it for.

Try Stampin on Tuesday #49

We have just returned from a fabulous long weekend spent down at Whakatane, Bay of Plenty -more on that later.

Before we left I started making this card but ran out of time on Wednesday night with all the other things that needed to be done before heading away.  So my first priority on returning was to finish this card in time for the challenges!

So here it is:

Happy 100th Birthday Just Add Ink!

This weeks’ challenge at JAI was to use a crown somewhere in your project. Now I don’t own any stamp sets with a crown so had to borrow the set Clearly for You from my friend – thanks Deb.

I found this a hard one but this is layout I finally settled on:

I’ve used 5 of the 12 stamps from this set to create my card!

Happy First Anniversary Yellowbear Stampin

I’ve just realised that today is Yellowbear Stampin’s first birthday – can you believe it.  I have now been blogging for one year and my posts have certainly changed from a year ago.  It only seems fitting to celebrate my first anniversary by posting a card made for the same person who had the first post and also to try out a new challenge site Freshly Made Sketches (thanks Anna for sharing this site with us).
Sam turns 6 tomorrow and here’s his card:

I was trying to match the sketch with a colour challenge but couldn’t find one with suitable boy colours.  I did however come across this site that had something about Tangerine Tango being the colour for 2012! So I went to my trusty colour coach and the above is what I came up with – I think I’d be lost without my CC.

Try Stampin on Tuesday & River Rock Challenge

Hi there

I’ve used this weeks sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday to make my wedding anniversary card for Phil (had to make sure he wasn’t around at the time).  I used the second colour combo of River Rock, Cherry Cobbler & Marina Mist.

I created a mask using a Post-It note (first time I have tried this technique) to get my two hearts overlapping.  The 10 coloured in hearts at the bottom represent the 10 years we have been married on 19th January :).
We are off to Whakatane on Thursday morning for a long weekend and have booked a trip to White Island (an active marine volcano) for Friday so hope the weather will be good.
