Stampin Fun and Friends – Challenges

By | October 1, 2011

Hi there

Well it’s been a good day – got the washing done, managed to get some weeding done and had time for some crafting – life is good.

Well over at Stampin Fun and Friends we have had a number of challenges – sketch, colour and tag challenge so I thought I’d show you what I made.

Here is the sketch challenge:

and here’s my card:

I’ve also made a little box to go with the card using the Petite Pockets die – I am loving this die.

Here is the colour challenge:

And here is my take on it:

Again I’ve used the Petite Pockets die to create this box.  The colours I used were Early Espresso, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango and Old Olive.
And this afternoon I’ve created my first tag.  The tag had to use autumn colours, have some form of embossing and use at least one pearl.
To get my background effect I brayered the embossing folder using a piece of Very Vanilla – I’m really pleased with the finished effect.
There is still time to join us and get all the projects so if you’re interested just click here to register.
I hope you have a good weekend.  Go the All Blacks and the Warriors!

Try Stampin on Tuesday – #34

By | October 1, 2011

Wow – can you believe it we’re up to number 34!  I’ve been doing these challenges every week since I found the site (back at #5).  I so love the layouts that CherylAnn gives us.  Some weeks they come to me quickly and others not so quick.

For this weeks challenge I’ve used it for a sympathy card.  These are not easy cards to do.  My girlfriends Mother-in-law died unexpectedly during the week and I wanted to send a card to them to let them know we’re thinking of them.

I stamped the image first in VersaMark then in Early Espresso and added clear embossing powder.  It gives the trees a bit of a shimmer.
Here is the layout we had:

Supplies:
Stamps – Lovely as a Tree, Thoughts & Prayers
Card Stock – Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Ink – Early Espresso
DSP – Windsor Knot (Retired)
Other – Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, VersaMark, Clear Embossing Powder, Designer Label Punch
Thanks for looking.  Hopefully I’ll be back later with another project from Stampin Fun and Friends.

Stampin Fun and Friends

By | September 29, 2011

Hi

Here’s a quick post with another project I’ve re-created.  This one is from Amy another Kiwi designer.

I’ve changed the colour scheme from the autumn tones to match the card I made here.  My friend went to Rarotonga on Monday (work/play).  She doesn’t like flying so thought I’d make her a gift and include some Minties – ‘it’s moments like these you need Minties’.  Hopefully she enjoyed her flight!

Here’s my re-creation.  You can see the original design over on Amy’s blog – thanks Amy for a great project.

There’s still time for you to join us and get the tutorials so why not click here to register.

Supplies:
Card Stock – Basic Black, Basic Grey, Real Red
DSP – Brights Pattern Stack – Tempting Turquoise
Other – Acetate, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, 1/2″ Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

Have a great day.

Try Stampin on Tuesday #33

By | September 26, 2011

Hi there

Just a quick post tonight as I’m feeling a bit jaded – Daylight Saving always seems to take a few days to adjust to.

As part of our ‘goodie’ bag for stamp camp we all received the A la Carte stamp ‘Something for Christmas’ – so I thought I’d use it on this weeks challenge.  I know it seems early to be doing Christmas cards but I really like this stamp and wanted a little ‘play’.

I’ve turned the below layout to a vertical view to suit the stamp:

Supplies:
Stamp – Something for Christmas
Card Stock – Old Olive, Real Red, Very Vanilla
Markers – Real Red, Old Olive, Bashful Blue
DSP – Dashing (retired)
Other – Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Glitter, Dimensionals

Well I’m off to bed – catch you back here soon.

Stamp Camp – Day 2

Hi there

It’s a great day to be a Kiwi – the AB’s bet the French and the Mighty Vodafone Warriors bet the Melbourne Storm and are into the final 🙂

Well I had a great day yesterday creating 7 projects – I can’t seem to pick my favourite as they were all great and ones that can be done again.  Leave me a comment and let me know which one you like.

Well I’d better go and get ready – off for the final two projects of the weekend.  Check back later for the final projects.
Don’t forget it’s not too late to join us at Stampin Fun & Friends – click here to register.

Stamp Camp

By | September 24, 2011

Hi

Just a quick post as I am heading back to Jacque’s for Stamp Camp.  Last night we made 3 projects:

The first project was covering a note pad (for our wish list!) and personalising a pen with DSP.  I love this paper.  The second project was the gift voucher on the far left using the new A-La-Carte stamp ‘Something for Christmas’.  The last project was the card in the middle using the masking technique.  I think you will see more projects using this stamp.

Well I’m off now for a fun filled day – I hope you enjoy your day as much as I will be.

Catch you back later with more projects.

Try Stampin On Tuesday # 32

By | September 18, 2011

Hi there

It’s only a few more days until the next event over at Stampin Fun and Friends starts – it’s not too late to join us.  For more details click here to register.

I really love the weekly challenges over at Try Stampin on Tuesday.  They are a great way to make sure you have some crafting time.  For this weeks card I’ve used two of my new stamp sets Flower Fest & Teeny Tiny Sentiments – I’ll slowly work through them and the new colours over the next couple of weeks.

CherylAnn also picks the top 3 cards each week from those that have participated in the weekly challenge.  I was fortunate to have my card picked again (here) and here’s my badge:

Now onto this weeks layout:

and here is my card:

I’ve teamed it up with the colour challenge from Colour Q (Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Basic Gray, Poppy Parade and White) – check out their site.
I decided to leave the butterflies white as I think they stand out really well and are a great contrast against the background colours.  I can’t wait to have more of a play with this stamp set.
Thanks to Phil who helped me create my signature to go on my photos.
Supplies:
Stamp – Flower Fest and Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card Stock – Basic Gray, Tempting Turquoise, Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Other – Basic Gray ink, Certainly Celery Taffeta Ribbon, Black Embossing Powder, Butterfly Punch, Word Window Punch & Modern Label Punch, Dimensionals
Don’t forget it’s not too late to join Stampin Fun and Friends.  I have seen some of the projects and they are fantastic.  I look forward to seeing you there.
Have a great week.

Try Stampin on Tuesday #31

By | September 11, 2011

Hi everyone

I can’t believe it but I haven’t blogged since last Sunday – how bad is that!  My starter kit arrived on Friday – it was like Christmas 🙂  now I just need to tidy my craft space and find homes for everything.

I have finally got round to making this weeks challenge using the sketch over at Try Stampin on Tuesday.  I wanted to use one of my new stamps so was patiently waiting for my order.  I’ve chosen the Triple Treat Flower punch.  For my colour combination I used Inkspirations

And here is my card:

This stamp is great and I can’t wait to trial some more layouts with it.  I’ve added dimensionals so that each layer stands out more.  I wanted to keep this clean and simple and the colour combination works well to achieve this.

My card from last weeks challenge also got picked in the top three so here’s my badge:

Well yesterday I was busy finishing off my tutorials for the next event with Stampin Fun and Friends which is due to start on Tuesday 20 September.  If you would like to join us click here to register – we’d love to have you join us.  We have 15 projects over 15 days with prize draws and challenges along the way.

Well that’s all from me for now.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy Fathers Day Dad

By | September 4, 2011

Hi there

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of Father’s Day and I haven’t posted the card and little gift I made for Dad!

So here it is:

The box is one that we made over at Crafters Anonymous a couple of weeks ago.  I modified it to hold mini peanut slabs.  These mini peanut slabs are great for crafting projects.  For the front I embossed the image then coloured it in using ink pads and blender pens.
I also covered a hardcover note book but forgot to take a photo of the finished product 🙁
We had a lovely day and Dad got spoilt – as he deserves.
Supplies:
Stamp – Sail Away
Card Stock – Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
DSP – Windsor Knot
Ink – Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist, Riding Hood Red, Cherry Cobbler
Other – Black Embossing Powder, Chocolate Chip 1″ Grosgrain Ribbon
Have a great week.

Over at Try Stampin on Tuesday the card I made for last weeks challenge got picked in the Top 3 – so here’s my badge.  I was really pleased with the card.  Well done to the other two winners.
