Copper and Wood Textures Musical Card

By | March 24, 2018

Hi there

Here’s a card I created earlier this year and forgot to share it with you.  It was for a friends son who turned 12 – I don’t have many stamp sets suitable for this age but knowing he’s into music I borrowed the set Country Livin’ from a friend.

The card base is Thick Very Vanilla and the front is ordinary Very Vanilla measuring 9.5cm x 14.3cm.  I have then attached a strip of Copper Foil to the back of the card front showing about .5cm on the left hand side – this then makes the card front measure 10cm across.   Before I attached the Copper Foil to the side I wrapped Copper Metallic Thread around the card front.

The circles are 1 3/4″ cut from Copper Foil and embossed, Wood Textures DSP and the music is from a piece of Merry Music Specialty DSP I found.  It was a bit tricky cutting out the circle as I didn’t want and Christmas carol words showing!  I think I did pretty well.

The guitar is stamped in Memento Ink on Crumb Cake then ‘fussy’ cut out.

I used a retired stamp set – Crazy About You – for the sentiment as it fitted perfectly with the image.  It is heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder – bit of a copper theme going on here.

For this family they always receive a 3D gift box filled with chocolates to coordinate with their card.  This box is created using the Lots to Love Box Framelit which was cut four times from Very Vanilla.  I then added some more of the Wood Textures DSP around the centre of the box and also for the lid.

Well that brings an end to my masculine cards.  I hope I been able to give you some ideas for the next time you need to create a masculine card.

Until next time …
